Don't throw away that load of bread that is going stale. Croutons are so easy to make and a great way to save that less-than-appetizing bread. This can also be made with 100% fresh bread too. I love combining these with my sort of Caesar salad dressing, shaved Parmesan and romaine lettuce for a Caesar inspired salad.
Recipe from Gimme Some Oven
1 loaf of bread (12 ounces), cut in to 3/4" cubes
1/4 cup olive oil
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic powder
3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoons pepper
Preheat your over to 375F/1902C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place bread cubes in a bowl. Drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt and pepper and gently toss to coat as evenly as possibly.
Spread the cubes of bread on your baking sheet and bake for for about 15 to 20 minutes, until the bread is golden in color. Toss half way through baking.
Allow to cool and use immediately, or store in an airtight container for 1 week.
